The Del Rosa Hotshots maintain a very high level of physical fitness for crew members. Our training consists of arduous hiking with long distance running while maintaining a high level of calisthenics. It is highly suggested for those interested in employment meet these minimum standards:

3 sets of 10 pull-ups

45+ push-ups in one minute

40 sit-ups in one minute

1.5 mile run with a average time of 15:00 on a slope 7%+

Be able to hike with a 45+ lb pack up steep terrain for long distances and extended time

Left: Dustin Blair pushes himself to drag a water-filled section of hose through the sandy wash behind the Del Rosa compound.

Center: 'Hose-drags' are followed by push-up's after each lap.

Right: 'Hose-drags' paying off in an unlikely situation.

Beyond physical fitness, it is absolutely vital for employee's to maintain a healthy level of nutrition and hydration to be able to keep up with the physical demands throughout the season.
